Day 23: a month/year of your life when you were happiest and why
Just one?
I'm stuck between summers of '91 and '92 where I was a "gate goddess" for Custer State Park in the Black Hills of South Dakota.
At CSP I worked outdoors where seeing buffalo, eagles, bighorn sheep, elk and pronghorn antelope was an every day occurance. I worked two buffalo roundups where I rode the prairie in a truck along with cowboys on horses to push 1500 of bison into a pen for their annual check ups and auction thinning. I got to brand a calf and and help with bull stud testing.
These two summers are also the reason why I do not drink anymore. Uffda! Living out in the boonies, on our own, and throw in a couple of Sturgis weeks and you have a recipe that says NO MORE ALCHOHOL EVER! Kissing a biker with a ZZTop-like beard should of been the end, but then there was the Hack-Naked party. (The boys weren't completely naked, they had their boots on....) I have video proof.
(Not my pics or videos, this was before the time of fancy smancy digital photography was available for me)

My dad raised beef cattle so I know the joys of a roundup -- on a much smaller scale of course! :)
